Can Your DataOps Platform Do This?
It feels like it has been ages since I last posted! I have been working on a lot of cool things and breaking some even cooler things (sorry, Eric Schrock and Derek Smart).
Today I want to share with you one of the cool things that I have been creating: dx-workshops. dx-workshops is a GitHub repo that contains end-to-end automation to deploy Delphix workshops into your cloud environment (AWS-only, as of this moment).
The famous “Toolchain Workshop (TCW)” is our first addition to the dx-workshops space. By following these build instructions, Delphix customers can build and deploy a fully integrated CI/CD sandbox into their AWS account, complete with Datical, Jenkins, git, Bugzilla, and more. TCW users will have a fully integrated workshop environment, with full walkthrough documentation, where they can experience Delphix in the same manner as our largest customers.
The dx-workshops repo contains all of the automation required to build and integrate every component. All of the automation in the repo employs standard automation tools like Ansible, Packer, and Terraform. Also, there are numerous examples of how to invoke the Delphix APIs. There are myriad examples in Golang, Kotlin, and python.
dx-workshops is already in use in several of our customers and one of the world’s largest system integrators. But, perhaps most importantly, we use dx-workshops hundreds of times a week ourselves to demonstrate the value of Delphix to our current and future customers!
Next week I will create another blog post that demonstrates walking through the initial download, build, and deployment of the TCW. Until then, below is a series of videos I created with the TCW that highlights the power of Delphix as a DataOps platform for application development. Enjoy!
